Short answer
Shopify offers a 3-day free trial with no credit card. After that, most plans cost $1 a month for 3 months, then the regular price: Basic is $39 a month or $29 billed yearly (as of Oct 29, 2026). Since 3 days is short, it pays to plan the store before you start.

What is Shopify?
Shopify is a hosted store platform: hosting, checkout, payments, shipping settings and an editor for design and pages, all in one place. You don't need your own server or any code. In return you pay a monthly fee and a payment fee per sale.
Extra features come from apps, for example for reviews, email or dropshipping. The store is yours, and you can export products and customers at any time.
What 5minstore adds
Shopify is the store platform, we build the finished store for it:
- Products with known cost, shipping and margin instead of guesswork: you see what each sale leaves you before you start.
- Store name, copy and design in about 5 minutes, as a preview without the trial clock running.
- Templates for your store policies.
- Move to your own Shopify store: included in Pro, otherwise a one-off fee.
- Changes by click or chat, even after your store is live on Shopify.
How to make the most of your 3 trial days
The trial starts when you create the account. This order saves time:
- 1
Plan first
Settle on a niche, 5 to 10 products with known cost and margin, a store name and colors before you sign up.
- 2
Create the account
Sign up on shopify.com and set your country and currency. The 3 days start now.
- 3
Theme and products
Pick a free theme like Dawn, add products with your own copy and images.
- 4
Policies and shipping
Add refund, privacy and terms policies, contact details, shipping zones and delivery times.
- 5
Test order
Order once yourself and check emails, payment and shipping details.
- 6
Pick a plan
Before the trial ends, decide whether to continue with the $1 offer.
Build first, then start the trial
With 5minstore.com you build your store up front, with no time limit and no Shopify account: type your idea, pick products with cost and margin, adjust name, copy and design. Only when you like the preview do you create your Shopify account and move the store over. That way the 3 trial days go into polishing and a test order instead of setup.
